UW Medicine Creates Mandated Sports Safety Course for Washington Coaches

The UW Medicine Sports Health and Safety Institute (SHSI) has launched an eLearning portal that provides state-mandated training on concussions and other key health issues for Washington state middle-school and high-school coaches. This tool is part of a partnership between SHSI and the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association, the state body that governs high-school and middle-school sports. The portal contains self-guided, online learning courses covering concussions, sudden cardiac arrest, heat and hydration, nutrition and first aid. The SHSI has also launched its own website, which provides additional resources for student athletes and adults.

UW Medicine and our supporters share the optimism and conviction that we can take medicine down smarter, faster paths.
