UW Medicine is gratefully accepting personal protective equipment (PPE) and other critical items to combat the virus, provide care for patients and ensure the health and well-being of our frontline medical teams.

To make an in-kind gift, please follow the steps below and read our frequently asked questions for more information.

STEPS TO MAKE AN IN-KIND GIFT

1. Review the list of needed items:

Disposable face masks- all types, including N95 masks
Clear face shields
Clear safety/medical glasses or goggles
Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) Systems
Exam and surgical gloves
Isolation gowns
Disinfecting wipes
Hand sanitizer

To ensure our staff and financial resources can stay focused on addressing this pandemic, we ask that you only donate items that we can use for the COVID-19 response.

The COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically increased demand for masks and other healthcare equipment needed to combat this virus and protect frontline medical staff. There are not enough manufacturers of these items to meet the current global demand.

We will be accepting donations Monday through Friday between 10 a.m.–2 p.m.

Because the location may change periodically, we ask that you complete the donation form before dropping off goods. Once the form is submitted, you will receive an email with the drop-off location and shipping address.

Some generous companies, organizations and groups have donated food services, packaged foods, new technology tools and other items for our healthcare teams. No. We can only accept items that are sealed and unopened.

Any in-kind gifts we can’t use will be donated to nonprofit partners in the community.

Our medical staff will review all items we receive to ensure they meet medical requirements. Donated items not appropriate for direct patient care may be used by other areas of UW Medicine or the University of Washington in our COVID-19 response or may be sent to a nonprofit partner.

Yes. If you would like a tax-deductible receipt, please send an email to covidgifts@uw.edu with the following information: name, mailing address, list of items donated, total value of goods and the receipt number you receive at the drop off location.

For mail-in donations, please send an email to covidgifts@uw.edu with the following information: name, mailing address, list of items donated and the total value of goods.

Yes. Shipping instructions will be included in the email confirmation you receive after completing the donation form. Please note that shipping costs are the donor’s responsibility.
