The Institute for Health Metrics Evaluation (IHME) provides decision makers in all 50 states and more than 50 countries with daily updates on essential data and projections to help fight this pandemic and make life-or-death decisions about purchasing supplies, distributing ventilators and reopening economies safely.
The Institute for Protein Design (IPD) designed a vaccine candidate that is performing extremely well in animal testing, developed thousands of synthetic proteins that can potentially be used to augment COVID-19 treatments, and created new tools to improve and simplify diagnostic procedures.
UW Medicine Virology Lab was one of the first laboratories in the nation to offer a highly specific serological, or antibody, test to the general public.
